Our beloved Khatib of Baitul Mukarram passed away
Our beloved and respected Khatib Saheb of Baitul Mukarram Mosque Hazrat Ubaidul Haq (May Allah Ta'la bestow His Rahmah on him) has passed away on the 24th night of Ramadan. Hazrat had the great fortune to be the disciple of Sheikhul Islam Hossain Ahmed Madani (Rahmutullahi Alaihi) and many other Elders. Hazrat Ubaidul Haq (Rahmutullahi Alaihi) was in one word the Spokesman of the Ulamah of Bangladesh. A very generous and noble man Khatib Saheb will never be forgotten....may Allah Ta'la grant him high honor in Jannah; May he be placed in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen

When he inaugurated a mosque he announced and requested to the attendants - whoever never had missed five consecutive prayers must lead the first prayer in this mosque. However, no one went forward to lead the prayers. Finally, Sultan Tipu himself led the prayers. He himself mentioned, 'I hadn't the intention to expose my deeds (i.e. I never missed five consecutive prayers in life), however none stepped forward, thus, I had to".
